Hello River Runners,

Looks like next Saturday August 9th we will meet up with Dan, Ken and Vince and do the Cohansey River Ride that was washed out earlier in the season. We will launch from Elk Neck State Park in Cecil County,Maryland just off of Rt 272 at 10:00 a.m. we will head out to the C & D Canal to the Delaware River and then head south on the Delaware River to the Cohansey River and then make our way east towards Bridgeton, New Jersey if time allows us. In talking with Dan there are some factors that could prevent us from reaching the Cohansey River with safety so we will say that the entire ride as it is above will be weather permitting. The winds can be somewhat dangerous and if they are we will ride some of the side creeks in New Jersey. As far as stopping to eat, if we make the Cohansey River we can stop at The Bait Shop to eat or if the weather is bad or depending on the time of day we can always eat at Crabby Dick's which is one of our favorite places to eat on our C & D Canal rides.

If you are planning on going please let me know by posting here or sending me an e-mail so that I can have a head count for the ride. I would say arrive at the park around 9:30 to prep and launch since there is a little walking involved here.

Thanks,

Watts

This ride will be an exciting aventure, the Cohansey river I am told is 32 miles long. It twists and turns all the way, also it's deep water the entire way. The last time we went, we saw numerous marsh birds as well as Eagles and Blue Herons and some things I couldn't identify. At the entrance there was a nice little island with a great sandy beach, maybe the next time we do this ride we can pack a lunch cause the island would be a fantastic place to picnic. I hope the weather cooperates sunny

Hey guys,

I'm in! Finally looks like the weather will be on our side...

Can't wait to see you all... it's been a while!

Watts... don't forget to bring the club tank top shirt I ordered back whenever...

Carol said that because it looks like a "guy" trip, she's going to pass. Don't know why... If it was an all girls trip I would still go... Wink

Can't figure out women...

See ya Saturday! Keep me posted!

Andy

Hey Dan,

Thanks for a great time today... Carol and I had a blast! It was nice seeing you, Ed, Watts, and Steph again!

If you could... list the exact parts that you replaced on your SeaDoo... I was really impressed with the performance you had... granted... I had over 100lbs more load on my jetski, but you still blew me away!

Watts... nice machines you have... I'm jealous of the 255hp! I have to do something about that...

Thanks Andy, I'm sure you will be up in that horsepower range with some of the parts that Dan has on his machine. Thanks Dan that was a great adventure minus the cops and the horse flies. I would like to do that ride again, see if we can go all the way to Bridgeton. If we leave earlier I'm sure we will make it.

Dan,

And let's not forget the "late start" because of late arrivals! (you know who you are...) Wink

So Dan... Still waiting on those parts and part numbers????

Andy

PS: Next time we can launch right at Greenwich Marina (the place we got gas) and do the full snake run up the canal! And still have time to eat... (on Ken of course!) tee hee hee
